Which methods improve teamwork?

In addition to team workshops and leadership development, numerous models and tools are available to strengthen teamwork in everyday work life. In this section, I will introduce you to a few methods that you can use. Videos with Ava-Melissa will also be available here soon. So check back regularly!

Feedback

A lively feedback culture is valuable in any team—regardless of context, industry, or culture. It is essential to have a method that creates clarity and can be universally accepted.

The well-known sandwich model has had its day and belongs in the "old clothes collection." The SBI model from the Center for Creative Leadership is much more effective. It impresses with its concreteness and comprehensibility. This is because it helps to shed light on the situation and avoid personal attacks or vague generalizations. That's why I also presented this model in my book "Das Mentoring Journal" (The Mentoring Journal). You will also find a template to download, which explains the model and provides space for your own thoughts and notes.

Feedforward

Feedforward is a future-oriented approach to expectation management, originating from Marshall Goldsmith. While feedback is often backward-looking and focuses on things that can no longer be changed, feedforward focuses on the future. And that is the idea behind feedforward—instead of evaluating the past, it is about clearly stating what you want from your employees in the future. Feedforward promotes openness on the part of the recipient, because concrete suggestions make it clear what expectations exist – without the baggage of past mistakes.

Download the template with detailed explanations here and try feedforward directly in your team leadership. Have fun using it!

Karma Bank

A tool that reveals what really drives teams.

We often talk about collaboration—but much less often about the small gestures that make it possible. Offering help. Sharing information. Listening. Lifting spirits. All of this can quickly get lost in the daily grind.

The Karma Bank helps make this visible, with the aim of distributing points not for performance, but for appreciative cooperation and support.
