Coaching

Coaching is a space for personal development and is more than just a good conversation. It is a structured, individual process that creates inner clarity. It helps you make conscious decisions and strengthens you in your role. Good coaching has a lasting effect—it encourages reflection, improves your ability to act, and provides a safe place for personal growth.

What makes Ameliorate Coaching different?

Our coaching uses a variety of theoretical frameworks that provide orientation and depth:

Melissa Coaching
NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming)

Language influences our thoughts and actions. In coaching, we use targeted communication to break down barriers and enable new perspectives.

  • Which inner beliefs do you want to change?

  • Where does your own language hold you back?

  • Which decisions do you make reactively?

Gestalt Therapy

Gestalt therapy views a person as a whole. By applying its principles, we help clients break ingrained patterns and find their own solutions.

  • Where are you not looking right now?

  • What is your part in this situation?

  • Where are you repeating old patterns, even though you want to start something new?

Systemic and Solution-Focused Brief Interventions

We focus on your strengths instead of analyzing problems. This is because development happens through small, effective steps.

  • What is your next small step?

  • What is already working well that you could amplify?

Marshall Goldsmith's
Stakeholder-Centered Coaching

Systemic thinking actively involves important people in your development. This makes change not only visible but also sustainable.

  • Who could help shape your development?

  • How can you intentionally involve your environment?

Who is coaching for?

Ameliorate coaches work with leaders, teams, and individuals. They help when something is changing, you want to develop, or a decision is on the horizon. Many reasons lead to coaching, but they all share one desire: to get a clear vision and achieve something.

Are you new to a leadership role?

If you are taking on a new role and want to lead consciously, coaching can help. It strengthens your position, clarifies your values, and helps you balance closeness with leadership effectively.

Are you in the middle of a change?

When uncertainty or pressure increases, such as during restructurings or personal setbacks, coaching provides support. You find stability, remain calm, and resolve conflicts constructively.

Are you facing a change?

Maybe you feel you want to make a professional change but don't know how yet. In coaching, you reflect on yourself to understand what motivates you or what is holding you back.

Are you taking on more responsibility?

When you are responsible for people or important topics and want to use your influence more effectively, coaching can support you. You learn to lead with clarity, courage, and structure.

Why the "Coaching Preparation" is your first step:

The coaching process doesn't begin with the first session; it starts as soon as you're ready to engage with it. Coaching preparation helps you to:

  • Re-evaluate your situation

  • Set initial goals

  • Clarify your expectations

  • Get in the right mindset for coaching

This conscious start makes every coaching session more profound and effective. Use this document, as it is the beginning of greater clarity, self-leadership, and success in your coaching journey.

What Ameliorate Coaching means:

  • It's structured and well-founded, as it uses methods from NLP, systemic coaching, and Gestalt approaches.
  • It's empathetic and honest, as it provides space for feelings, clarity, and confrontation.
  • It's practical and future-oriented, because it focuses on your reality, not just on theories.

Supporting Your Development

Individual development takes many forms. Depending on your needs, goals, or role, different formats make sense.

PERSONALITY ASSESSMENT

Psychological assessments measure abstract qualities that we can't touch or measure. Most of us are familiar with IQ tests that measure intelligence. Similarly, there are tests like DiSC* that identify behavioral patterns.

Ameliorate GmbH is a registered partner with Wiley. Melissa is a certified DiSC trainer and uses these assessments both with individuals in coaching and in team settings. You can download a sample profile via the button. If you have questions, you can contact Ameliorate directly.

*DiSC stands for "Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, and Conscientiousness." These are the defined styles and priorities. Every person is a mix of these and has a unique behavioral profile. Usually, one, two, or even three styles stand out. None of the styles is better or worse than the other, and these style differences are extremely valuable. Getting to know your own styles and priorities, as well as those of others, allows you to better leverage the value of each style. For example, for better communication in the workplace or improved collaboration.

SUPERVISION

Supervision is a reflective process. It serves to help you manage professional challenges. The goal of supervision is to question your own actions, gain new perspectives, and develop effective solutions for complex situations. Supervision takes place in a protected space where you can discuss your challenges with a neutral, experienced person and develop practical tools.

Typical topics in supervision include:

Role Clarity: Understanding and defining your own leadership role.

Communication: Improving interaction with teams, colleagues, and superiors.

Conflict Management: Handling tension or difficult relationships.

Decision-Making: Reflecting on decision-making processes and strategies.

Stress Management: Dealing with stress and fostering your own resilience.

COACHING

Coaching is an individual, goal-oriented guidance process. It supports you in achieving your professional and/or personal goals and fully utilizing your potential. The focus is on self-reflection, personal development, and developing solutions. Coaching is particularly well-suited for topics such as career planning, leadership skills, conflict management, decision-making, and dealing with change. It provides a space for growth and sustainable personal development.

Typical characteristics of coaching:

Goal-oriented: The coachee (the person being coached) defines clear goals that are worked on during the coaching process.

Resource Activation: The coach helps to recognize and specifically use existing strengths and skills.

Solution-oriented: The coach helps to develop concrete steps to overcome challenges.

Neutrality: The coach acts as a trustworthy, neutral guide. They do not judge or dictate.

MENTORING

Are you looking for an exchange with experienced professionals? Mentoring is a conversation in which a role model imparts knowledge and gives you ideas. This helps you become more well-known, develop, and find your place. I particularly support HR managers, people & culture experts, and female founders who want to reflect on their tasks and strengthen or strategically expand them.

The "Mentoring Goal Trio" helps you reflect on three important areas of your development:

Person: Who do you want to be? What do you want to live out, show, or change more consciously?

Skills: Which skills do you want to intentionally build—and what can you learn from others?

Career: Where do you want to go—and what do you need in terms of visibility, contacts, or clarity to get there?

A Look in the Mirror: Who Are You When No One Is Watching?

Individuality is something special. And when individuals come together to form a team, there are a number of unique characteristics in that group. How these characteristics are handled is reflected in the team's success. It is all the more important to be aware of your own abilities and to accept the abilities of others.

The first step, therefore, is to get to know yourself, explore your own skills, recognize behaviors, question ingrained beliefs, and develop leadership competencies.

Who am I?

This philosophical-sounding question has a practical purpose here. It is intended to help you become clear about the personal preferences that guide you through life.

Do you like to give direct instructions and ensure that decisions are made quickly?

Do you primarily generate ideas in a group?

In a group, do you tend to listen or lead the discussion?

Do you love to bury your nose in books to gather facts and data and define your approaches?

Individuen-Bild

With the help of psychometric assessments (DiSC), your personality can be tested. This gives you a helpful basis for driving your further development and professionalizing your own demeanor.

Ameliorate offers goal-oriented coaching for this. Workshops and supervision are also helpful tools. The goal is to better understand your own perspectives to ensure a confident appearance when dealing with others.

How do I check if this is right for me??

The following reflection is not a substitute for a scientifically based and validated test. However, if you answer honestly and later take the correct DiSC assessment, you may be surprised at how accurate the reflection is.

After filling out and submitting the form, you will receive access to the Animal Quiz, which is based on the idea of DiSC. Sign up here:

A Standard Quote from Melissa: "You Define Your Self-Worth!"

What the video is about:

Your perceived worth often depends on your environment—the place, the people, or your existing skills. If you feel undervalued, then you are not in the right place. Recognize your own worth and find out in which places and by which people you are valued.

Where are you currently located, and who surrounds you?
