Think about the last time you built something entirely from scratch. Now, imagine doing it in just 48 hours, alongside a team of brilliant strangers, creating a solution to a real-world problem that didn't exist when you woke up on Friday morning.

That is the magic of a hackathon.

If the word "hackathon" sounds intimidating, think of it simply as a **sprint for your brain**. Originating in the late 1990s as time-limited, intense tech collaborations, hackathons challenge teams to work under the clock to solve complex problems. And while traditional tech spaces have historically lacked diversity, **#herHACK** is completely changing the narrative.

Since 2021, more than 500 women have stepped into the #herHACK arena, shattered their own expectations, and emerged as innovators. The big question is: **Are you ready to be number 501?**

### Demystifying the Tech Room: No Coding Required

The biggest misconception about emerging tech is that you need a computer science degree just to walk through the door. At #herHACK, **no prior knowledge is required.**

This unique hackathon is specifically designed to welcome women who might never have pictured themselves in a tech room before. It combines a passion for innovation with a deep commitment to sustainability. Over a dynamic, high-energy weekend, teams brainstorm ideas, design prototypes, experiment with simple code, and pitch their final products to a jury that genuinely cares about making a difference.

You don’t need to be a master programmer. To thrive at #herHACK, you only need three things:

- Deep curiosity about the future.
- A willingness to collaborate intensely with a team.
- The ability to surprise yourself.

By the end of the sprint, you’ll have argued, laughed, problem-solved, and built a tangible prototype, plan, or pitch. The atmosphere isn't cutthroat; it’s electric, supportive, and focused entirely on learning, pushing creative boundaries, and networking.

### Big News: #herHACK is Expanding

Innovation shouldn't be confined to a single weekend. That’s why the #herHACK approach has been completely revamped to offer sustained support, education, and community building.

Moving forward, #herHACK is expanding into a comprehensive ecosystem of regional events and upskilling workshops designed to prepare you for the future of tech. Here is a look at what is coming your way:

- **3 Mindset Sessions on Courage:** Technical skills matter, but confidence is the real catalyst. These sessions are dedicated to conquering imposter syndrome, taking calculated creative risks, and claiming your space in emerging tech.
- **2 Regional Upskilling Days:** Deep-dive workshops where you can get hands-on experience with new tools, frameworks, and sustainability practices in a low-stakes, high-reward environment.
- **Mini-Hacks Across 5 Regions (Launching 2027):** Bringing the fast-paced excitement of a hackathon closer to home with regional, bite-sized hackathons designed to keep the momentum going.
